Methanex says it has agreed to take over the customers and exclusive rights to the output of Terra Industries' 700,000-m.t./year methanol plant at Beaumont, TX for $25 million. The agreement will last through the end of 2008, Methanex says. Terra says it will also receive a "percentage of gross profits" generated by sales from the Beaumont methanol plant, but it did not disclose specifics. Methanex is not acquiring the plant, which operates in conjunction with Terra's ammonia plant. Terra also has a 120,000-m.t./year methanol plant at Woodward, OK.
